Who We Are

WHAT IS THE LEE COUNTY LEGAL AID SOCIETY?

Lee County Legal Aid Society Inc. is a private, nonprofit organization that provides free legal aid to low income residents of Lee County.

Established on March 27, 1967, we are a community-based agency with a team of professionals who act as legal representatives, counselors, community supporters and educational providers. We seek justice for those who need it most.

The Legal Aid Society is managed by an executive director and overseen by a board of directors. Our staff consists of attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants and intake specialists, and we receive vital assistance from our volunteers.

HOW DO WE IMPACT THE COMMUNITY?

We collaborate within the legal community and with for-profit and nonprofit agencies to improve access to justice, education, health services and more for Lee County’s most vulnerable citizens.

The responsibility of the Lee County Legal Aid Society extends beyond direct legal representation of clients. We seek security for victims of domestic violence and protection for children, and we strive to foster and maintain the bond between parents and children. Legal Aid strengthens and unifies families through times of profound challenges.
